Hi! We're the Hook Norton Guides and this page is to tell you all about us.
What are Guides? Guides are a group of girls aged about ten to 14. We get together regularly to do lots of great things and generally have a laugh. There are millions of Guides all over the world in 140 different countries, which means that we get to meet loads of new people and travel internationally. It's a great opportunity for meeting friends out of school. Guides also help people out- whether it's a litterpick, serving coffee in church or charity fundraising. We also do challenges and badges, learn skills like first aid and teamwork, go to special Guide events and, of course, go camping. All Guides join by making a promise: I promise that I will do my best To love my God To serve the Queen and my country To help other people And to keep the Guide Law. The Guide motto is Be Prepared. Who are the Hook Norton Guides? We're a group of about 30 Guides from Hook Norton, a village in Oxfordshire. We meet once a week for two hours and get up to all sorts of fun activities. To see what we've been doing recently, go to our News Page. We have 5 Patrols (small groups of Guides)- Dolphins, Thistles, Pandas, Lions and Parrots. This is our website- we hope you like it! |
